Fake Page

Hi Beth!

I set up this page because I hope that with a few examples you’ll see what I mean about picture quality affecting a web page.  If possible, it is best to view this on a computer instead of a smart phone to better see what I’m talking about.

Let’s start with the cover photo on this page.  I used the same photo that is on your “Services” page, but left off the color overlay.  I had to use the overlay to hide the imperfections of the file.

This photo’s dimensions are 960 by 720 pixels.  In order to stretch the photo to fit on a screen, it becomes grainy.

For comparison, the photo below is the cover photo from your “Syncere Publishing” page.  Again, I left off the overlay, and have it showing in the same amount of space as the one of you at the top with the same features and margins.  It has good lighting without being washed-out, and because the image isn’t distorted, it isn’t grainy or blurry.  It’s dimensions are 2560 by 1407 pixels

The pictures below are the ones that you sent me a few weeks ago.  These are full-sized

The dimensions of this photo: 240 by 320 pixels. This is the original file.

For comparison, I cropped this photo to get rid of the of the extra "noise" in the photo.  I then enlarged the photo to 300 pixels in height (compared to the 240 in the original), which is typically the minimum size that I'll use on a website (I prefer 400-500 pixels).  Enlarging the picture makes it blurry, so I couldn't use it on the site.

Below: On the left is what I was sent On the right is the same image, but brightened as much as I could without it looking "washed-out" so I could use it on the site.  It probably could still be cropped for height.
